Grids

Settings → Grid configuration… edits the grid that is active. The window gear opens the same dialog. The caption is Grid configuration.

Columns

The field list has Show column in the grid. Show or hide a column there. Drag rows in that list to reorder columns. Column width is set by dragging the header edge in the grid. Rotated headers (the narrow peak-light columns) use a fixed tile width; dragging those is ignored so the lights stay aligned.

On the Samples grid, SpikeGroup is the column next to Cal group. It is the spike-recovery pair name (empty = not paired). The cell colour comes from the spike-group catalog, the same way Cal group and Matrix use theirs. Copy, paste, and fill edit it like Cal group. See Spike recovery and Sample review.

Sort by clicking a column header. Further sorts and filters are the grid’s header gestures (filter row / header menu supplied by the grid). The navigator checkboxes are a separate filter: sample type, sample group, analyte group, acquisition key, and sample key. See Sample groups.

Freeze panes is a section in Grid configuration. Replicated columns repeats leading columns when the grid is split. Headers can show or hide the column-header band, the row-header gutter, and row numbers.

Formats, units, and colors

Settings → Formats… sets number formats (concentrations, responses, times). Settings → Colors… sets the colors used for sample types, flags, and curve models. Those colors are what you see on too low / OK / too high and on Sample, Calibration, QC, CCV, Blank, and Solvent. Spike group, cal group, limit group, and matrix colours are the catalog colours, also listed in that Colors window.

Settings → Appearance… → Show sample type symbols is off until you turn it on. Off, the type column, the type dropdown, chart labels that include the sample type, and the navigator sample-type list show the name. The sample-type colour stays the code. On, those names are prefixed with the symbol: Sample ●, Calibration ■, QC ◆, CCV ▲, Blank ○, Solvent ▽. Open grids and the navigator update as soon as you change it. Calibration chart markers stay circles for curve points and orange diamonds for CCV.

Field appearance in Grid configuration is the chart and cell options for the selected column (for example whether a chromatogram draws the effective threshold).

Selection & colors, Row height, View title, and Interaction are the other sections of the same dialog.

Where it is kept, and how to reset

The choices apply to that view on this computer (the view layout and the grid configuration stored with it). They are not a column of the method and they are not stored per sample.

View → Reset layout restores the built-in arrangement: Samples, Results, Sample details, Result details, and Calibration. View → Reset navigator restores the navigator panes. View → New layout starts a layout you can save under your own name.

Copy

Select cells and copy them (the grid copy command) to paste into Excel or a text editor. That copy is not the batch export. For a file per sample or per batch, use View → Report. See Import and export.
