Import and export
Methods
Method → Load or import… loads a Quanto .qtm, replaces the method with a vendor method, or appends analytes under a different acquisition key.
| Source | Files | What comes in | What you still check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quanto package | .qtm |
The saved method, including report workbooks. | Paths to data and libraries on this computer. |
| MassHunter Quant | .m folder, quantitative.xml, or .quantmethod.xml |
Compounds, transitions, names, retention times, ISTD links, curve settings, and levels as they are stored in the quant method. | Curve fit if you want the Quanto default. Confirm qualifiers and doses. |
| ChemStation quantitation | .M folder with qdb.mth (folders that are also MassHunter methods are skipped) |
Compounds from the QuantitationDB. | The same review as MassHunter. |
| SCIEX | .wiff |
MRM transitions (Q1, Q3, RT) as compounds. .msm method files are not imported. |
Names, ISTD, levels, and the curve. The file supplies transitions, not a finished calibration table. |
| Shimadzu LabSolutions | Method .lcm, .gcm, .qgm, or data .lcd, .gcd, .qgd, .lrd |
MRM/SRM compounds. | Names, levels, and the curve. |
| Waters MassLynx | .raw folder |
MRM compounds from the data folder. | Names, levels, and the curve. |
| MassHunter data as a method | .D that contains MRM transitions |
Transitions from the data file, not from a .quantmethod.xml. Duplicate folders are skipped. |
This is an MRM transition list. It is not a SIM or SCAN method import. |
There is no separate command that imports a SIM-only acquisition method or a SIM data file as a method. SIM and SCAN compounds are created in Compound Discovery, or they arrive inside a MassHunter or ChemStation quant method when that method already contains them. See Set up a method from scratch.
Method → Save method… writes a .qtm. Make Readonly locks that file.
Samples
File → Add samples… reads the data formats in Supported data. Sample information (name, acquisition time, position, acquisition method, dilution when the file has it) is filled from the file. The acquisition key defaults from sample-info extraction. A sequence inside a MassHunter .D is read as sample information, not as a separate sequence spreadsheet.
File → Remove samples… drops samples. There is no general “import any CSV as the sample list” command. Concentrations for calibration levels are entered on Analyte doses, or created with Create doses from sample dose, or they come in with a vendor quant method.
Results and reports
View → Report runs the defined report and export. See Report templates.
- Reports: Excel and PDF, for the batch, each sample, each compound, or each sample key. Optional print.
- Exports: Excel and TSV, for the batch or each sample.
- Import: an Excel file named in the import definition (Run defined import).
Per-sample files use the sample in the output name and are written under the report folder or export folder you define. Save the batch first so the path exists.
There is no LIMS connector, no results CSV export besides the TSV export, and no spectrum-file export from the report. In Compound Discovery you can copy a spectrum as text from the spectrum menu. Charts can be copied as a graphic. See Charts.
Grids copy through the grid’s own copy command when you select cells. That is not a batch export. See Grids.
